This keeps our blood sugar levels high, which can stress our kidneys and harm our overall health.”

– High HgbA1C levels indicate more sugar-related damage, including kidney damage.

– Uncontrolled diabetes can damage the blood vessels in the kidneys and destroy their filters.

– It impairs kidney function, causing water and salt retention in the blood and accumulation of waste products.

– Excessive sugar intake is associated with obesity and metabolic syndrome, increasing the risk of kidney disease.

– Obesity can put pressure on the kidneys, leading to problems like kidney stones and chronic kidney disease.

– Excess salt intake can raise blood pressure, increase stress on the kidneys and increase the risk of kidney and heart disease.

First, we need to know how much sugar is high and how it affects our kidneys. It helps us make smart choices about what we eat. Instead of always eating sugary foods, we can choose healthy options like fresh fruit, nuts or yogurt.

Secondly, we should try not to overdo it with sweet foods. It’s okay to enjoy them sometimes, but we need to balance them with other healthy foods. Cutting back on sugary drinks, processed foods and sweets can really help protect our kidneys.

And don’t forget to drink enough water! Staying hydrated is very important for kidney health. Aim to drink at least eight glasses a day and try to avoid too many sugary drinks that can dehydrate you.
