Sadhguru’s emergency brain surgery: Spiritual leader cured, PM Modi wishes him speedy recovery health news

Spiritual guru and founder of Isha Foundation, Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, underwent emergency brain surgery at Delhi’s Apollo Hospital on March 17 after suffering massive swelling and bleeding in his brain. According to the Isha Foundation, Sadhguru was examined by Dr Vinit Suri, a senior consultant neurologist at Apollo Hospitals, and was advised to undergo an MRI, where massive bleeding in his brain was detected. The bleeding was termed “life threatening” by doctors. Sadhguru, however, is currently doing well and is said to be recuperating.

His daughter Radhe Jaggi shared an update on her father’s health in an Instagram story. He wrote, “To those asking, Sadhguru is doing well and getting well soon.”

‘Sadguru was suffering from headache for 4 weeks’

Dr Vinit Suri said Sadhguru had been suffering from headaches for the past four weeks. “The headache was very severe and she was ignoring it as she had to do her normal activities. Even performed Mahashivratri on March 8, though she had excruciating pain. On March 15 the pain became severe and then she consulted me. At 4 pm, I Advised him to get an MRI, but at 6pm, he had a very important meeting and didn’t want to miss it. However, an MRI was done later, and the MRI showed that he had a lot of bleeding. Brain. It’s outside the brain and under the bone. There. There was heavy bleeding twice – one which happened about three weeks ago and the second happened about two to three days ago,” said Dr Suri.

On March 17, Sadhguru’s neurological condition rapidly deteriorated with a progressive decline in his level of consciousness. A team of doctors comprising Dr Vinit Suri, Dr Pranab Kumar, Dr Sudhir Tyagi and Dr S Chatterjee performed the surgery within hours of admission to stop the bleeding. After the surgery, Sadhguru was weaned from the ventilator.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Sadhguru on Wednesday. “Speak to @SadhguruJV Ji and wish him good health and speedy recovery,” the Prime Minister said in a post on X.

Jaggi Vasudev, 66, said in a video posted on his Instagram account, “The neurosurgeons at Apollo Hospital cut my skull and tried to find something but found nothing — completely empty. So they gave up and patched it up. Here I am in Delhi. With the skull, but no brain damage.”

Meanwhile, the Isha Foundation said, “Sadguru is doing very well, and the team of doctors who performed the surgery say that his condition is improving beyond expectations.”
