Adolescent girls balance menstrual periods at school through improved menstrual hygiene management practices. Adolescence represents an important stage in the transition from childhood to womanhood in a girl’s life. Although menstruation is a normal and healthy part of women’s and girls’ lives, in many societies, experiences are limited by cultural taboos and discriminatory social norms.

Dr. Akanksha Khanduja (MBBS, DGO, DNB), Consultant Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Orchid Clinic, Faridabad, Haryana says, “The onset of menstruation in adolescent girls is the beginning of a new phase, which leads to various problems such as harassment, stigma and social exclusion.
